DOMENICA 17 SETTEMBRE
They’ve played in Croke Park, The 3Arena, Aviva Stadium and The Board Gáis Energy Theatre; worked with Ed Sheeran on the translation of his global hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’; gathered over 18 million views on YouTube videos; and have headlined gigs in New York, Melbourne, Boston, London, Paris, Edinburgh and even Uganda.
And all in the space of 18 months.
But for Seo Linn, the plans are only to get bigger and better. An energetic group of young musicians, they burst onto the Irish music scene with not only powerful original songs, but also unique takes on contemporary tracks with the injection of their passion for Gaeilge.
Initially involved in the hugely popular Coláiste Lurgan’s translated videos, taking a number of popular tracks and putting them across in Irish, Seo Linn have maintained their upward ascent, appearing on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show, as well as penning the official hit for the Republic of Ireland football team at Euro 2016 in France. Acting as official Ambassadors for Seachtain na Gailege, they played an active role in the 1916 Centenary Celebrations, aired to over a million people.
Having most recently released their debut album, Solas, as well as touring Australia, Seo Linn are set for their biggest show to date as they headline Vicar Street on 23rd June 2017.
Consisting of Stiofán, Keith, Daithí, and Kev, they have brought together their musical talents to create a distinctive style that meshes the old and the new. Their sound encapsulates a traditional sense of Irishness through the medium of contemporary, high octane, rhythmic music in what we can only describe as a treat for your ears. This is a band that you need to see live to believe the incredible energy that they bring to the stage.
