Street Wings is a European Celtic folk-rock band, formed by musicians from Spain, the Czech Republic and Venezuela. Their energetic mix of rock with Celtic and Nordic folk influences comes together in theirunique style, played on an eclectic assortment of instruments including bagpipes, violin, mandolin, flutes, electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar and drums.
Street Wings was founded in Madrid in 2010 and has performe extensively throughout Europe.
They have appeared at folk, rock and world music festivals such as Skagen Festival in Denmark, Labadoux in Belgium, Sázavafest in the Czech Republic, Busto Folk in Italy, and many more in these countries and Sweden, Austria and Spain.
The band has shared stages with worldwide known artists like Carlos Núňez, Lúnasa or Luar Na Lubre. Street Wings’ debut album, Synchronized, was released in May of 2012. Their second album, Up to Heaven, was produced by José María Rosillo and was released in April of 2014.
Both albums received glowing reviews from the specialized media and enthusiastic responses from audiences, both nationally and internationally. The band has recently colaborated with the singer-songwriter Txetxu Altube participating in the recording of his last two albums. In January 2017 Street Wings has released an EP with four songs and is currently recording it’s third album Keep the Sound with the producer José Nortes.
